Guest Speaker, Yvonne Nassar Saloom: “Roots of the Cedar in Louisiana”

The Alexandre Mouton House/Lafayette Museum and the Lafayette Public Library System present “Roots of the Cedar in Louisiana.”  Guest speaker, Yvonne Saloom, a Lafayette resident for more than 60 years, wife, mother, and community activist, is proud of her Lebanese heritage and wants to share it with us. She published a history of the Saloom and Boustany families, two chapters in the “First 100 Families of Lafayette, Louisiana,” in association with the Galvez Chapter of the DAR in 1970. In 1983 and 1984 the information was published in the Attakapas Gazette. In 1994, through association with the ULL Archives, she published the article “Roots of the Cedar.” Yvonne’s expertise in the history of the Lebanese families of our area is sure to be educational and entertaining
