Our May speaker will be Eddie Cazayoux, an architect who practices sustainable architecture and historic preservation. He has received awards for his work from the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. National Park Service, AIA Louisiana and the State of Louisiana’s Energy Division of the Department of Natural Resources. His presentation will cover the construction techniques of early settlers of Louisiana who attempted to adapt their architecture to fit Louisiana’s hot, humid climate. His extensive research of these types of construction influences the contemporary architecture he designs today and the restoration of historic buildings.
